For those of us who do not know, what does "digged" mean? I'm not a techie person and have never heard the term.

Cool Diggs

I have put a digg tag onto some of my blogs...nothing happens. Guess it must be good luck or there is something else driving the hits.

jillybeans, Digg is a user driven social content website. All of the content on Digg is submitted by their community of users.

Here's how it works: After you submit content, other people read your submission and "Digg" the stories they like best. If your story rocks and receives enough Diggs, it is promoted to the front page for the millions of visitors to see.

If no one likes your story, it simply disappears into oblivion.

There are many other "Digg" like sites that you can use to drive traffic too. i.e. Netscape, Reddit, StumbleUpon, etc. Most of them operate on a thumbs up / thumbs down system, and the more votes your article gets, the more people see it, the more traffic you get. Of course, the trick is getting something out there that resonates with the user base of the social site that you're targeting...

Just by having a digg tag on your blog will not mean that you will start getting diggs. People digg pages / articles if they find the content good and useful. The more stickly your content is the more likely it is likely to get dugg.

oceanline: Great news! Did the Digg crowd click on any ads? Just curious. They often ignores ads. Looking forward to your article.

-not every one can have success with social networking web sites.
- it is better to selection your keywords from these web sites and try to study waht these target audience needs. then try to get some thing that interested them.
marketing topic are not hot, but politic, stars news, ....are more important it is better to visit every one and try to look for top "tags" and write your articles.
reddit, digg, stumbleupon, .... every have their specificity but the same strategy can be used.
there are now the new term "social media optimization" and how can affect your online marketing.

Great topic!! It's unbelievable how many different options there are for marketing and promotion on the Internet. As soon as you get a "grip" on what appears to be most of them, something else comes along.

Brilliant!

A friend of mine got 36,000 unique page views from a single article that got digged. That was in 24hrs. The second time it happened his site crashed.
