Default Inbound Links

Hey guys
I have recently set up my website, I am a driving instructor. I have outbound links which are really easy to set up but how do I get these all important inbound links?
Any help would be appreciated. Also whilst I am here i have started to update my website myself now (im a big boy now, lol) and I was just wondering how to get the links which are currently along the top to go down the left hand side?
Again any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards
Matt.

Matt,

To get inbound links, I personally emailed the owners of sites that I felt would be relevant and helpful to my visitors. It takes some time, but I think you can get some quality links that way.

You can also submit to directories by going to google and typing in "submit url" + directories or "add url" + directories.

Good luck.

Matt -

Inbound links huh? No prob.

Here's a few quick things:

On your About ME page on eBay
Email others and ask for it
Place a link(s) in your blog
Leave a comment on other blogs (some allow for web links)
Submit site to search engines
Write articles
Include in signature when posting on forums
Pay for text link ads (plenty for sale on eBay)
In a myspace account (doesn't have to be yours)

And as time goes on you can check your link popularity by going to linkpopularity.com and inserting your web site address to see how many links you have pointing at you.

Keep us posted!!

Another good way is to list a keyword rich ad on CraigsList.

I thought Craig's list frowns on that?

Any site frowns upon exploitation - so you make it valuable.

It is ok to advertise on Craigslist

While I don't think it's "bad" to advertise on Craigslist, I do think it's short sighted as the links there tend to roll out of site and eventually out of the index as floods of new ones are added.

Not sure I understand this, can you elaborate?

I believe the easiest way to start linking is to review the backlinks of your competitors and those ranking ahead of you to see where they are linked and if there is opportunity for you to add your site as well.

From there, visit a site like www.strongestlinks.com and choose a handful of directories to add your site to. I'd also develop several articles focused on different keywords and offer them to bloggers in your niche. Take care not to use the same article over, mix them up and use all your keywords.

You can get inbound links by writing articles that relate to your website's subject, and post them on the many articles websites available today. There are websites, where they first review your article, and there are other websites, where you can post your article through a special web form at that website, and your article will be seen by visitors immediately.

You can also add several links within your article (where it makes sense of course), pointing to various pages within your website.

Any websites in particular that you recommend? I am having difficult finding any relevant ones...
