Twitter and Facebook are two of the most effective online marketing tools for businesses nowadays. I guess when you use it wisely and capture your target audience, you'd be surprised at how much revenue it can bring.

Amen to Twittter and Facebook.
I haven't really done much with Facebook yet. Just family stuff. Thanks for the great tips on using Facebook. I'm going to start that soon. I've seen how they work together.
But Twitter has been great and is now one of my prime sources for driving traffic to my website. I just started a new contest yesterday and got over one hundred new visitors to my site and today looks to be double that already and it's not even noon yet. I created a cute little cartoon blue Twitter bird, put it on my profile page, and asked people to give it a name. The first person who gives me a name I select wins 2 hours of my consulting time. I'm a copywriter, web designer and online marketing specialist with quite a lot of experience. I charge $150 an hour for my consulting time. So this is a pretty good deal. The contest is getting a lot of interest. Its filling up my targeted prospect list. It's increasing my Followers and that means more traffic.
So amen to Twitter and Social Media in general.
I do believe this is the new and best way to drive traffic. It takes some work. But once it starts, it just continues to build.
I posted a link to the contest below. There's a link on that contest page back to my Twitter profile page if you want to see how that works.

Thanks for the great post. I'm a convert.

Peter

Default Thank you

Thank you for posting your experience with Face book and twitter. I like Face Book and have a page for my business. I have a twitter account but how to make it benefit my business was a complete mystery. This post has got me thinking.

Thanks again. See I am butting on my think cap.

What a fantastic story and super results.

I just wanted to share with you that I have made FREE videos that anyone can access (you do not need to opt in) about Facebook Fan Pages.

Two of the videos focus solely on 'Exploding your Fanbase', so this might be useful to you. (Just click on the link below)

Regards

Jo

Social media if harnessed properly can be a very effective source for increasing visibility for any business.

Apart from FB and twitte Delicious is another website where topics f interst can be bookmarked along with blogs and articles pertaining to your company. One thing though should be kept in mind that its not only about 'ME'.

Its quite useful ..

Question Help please

Below in the quote it mentions using a Facebook Wall as a Blog. I have tried this but the box for new posts only takes so many characters. Is there any way to put a long post in this box? Perhaps there is special type of Facebook page?

[quote=4ndr3w;100026]

I created a Facebook page for my business, and used the Wall as a blogging platform.

I am just posting short items to the wall that fit easily within the prescribed character limit - short little bite-sized items that are funny, interesting, on-topic, and that have a good graphic attached.

If you want to do something longer-form, you can use Facebook Notes, which lets you go on at any length, and which will appear in your fans' stream. Or you can open a free Wordpress blog, and associate it with your Facebook account so that posts to your Wordpress blog automagically appear as a Facebook Note.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info about posting in notes.
I have Blogger/Blogspot not Wordpress. Does anybody know if you can use the above tip on Blogger?
Thanks again
