I'm a little confused -- what does pay per click advertising have to do with an SEO project?
What you do with PPC will not affect your SEO in any way. The search engines have all been quite clear about this, many times. Despite all the conspiracy theories floating around out there, your PPC campaigns will have no effect on your page rankings in the organic listings (and vice versa -- having a well-ranking page in the organic listings will neither gain you benefits nor cause you to lose out in any way in your paid search campaigns).
Unless you're talking about hiring a professional SEO to optimize your site, there are no "paid strategies" for SEO.
That said, learning more about how pay per click campaigns work is an excellent goal. If you want to learn how Google AdWords works, your best bet is to start with Google's own online tutorials
. They're free, and you can't go wrong getting advice straight from the source, IMO.
For more general pay per click advice that includes other platforms, I've found the folks at PPCHero
to be quite knowledgeable. They do sell PPC campaign management services, but also offer a wealth of free advice in their blogs, newsletters and resources areas.
Hope this helps!
