I'm a little confused -- what does pay per click advertising have to do with an SEO project?

What you do with PPC will not affect your SEO in any way. The search engines have all been quite clear about this, many times. Despite all the conspiracy theories floating around out there, your PPC campaigns will have no effect on your page rankings in the organic listings (and vice versa -- having a well-ranking page in the organic listings will neither gain you benefits nor cause you to lose out in any way in your paid search campaigns).

Unless you're talking about hiring a professional SEO to optimize your site, there are no "paid strategies" for SEO.

That said, learning more about how pay per click campaigns work is an excellent goal. If you want to learn how Google AdWords works, your best bet is to start with Google's own online tutorials. They're free, and you can't go wrong getting advice straight from the source, IMO.

For more general pay per click advice that includes other platforms, I've found the folks at PPCHero to be quite knowledgeable. They do sell PPC campaign management services, but also offer a wealth of free advice in their blogs, newsletters and resources areas.

Hope this helps!

Pay Per Click (PPC) is an internet advertising system meant to direct online traffic to particular websites where the advertiser pays the publisher a certain price when an ad is clicked. This is a brief tutorial that explains how you can use PPC to your advantage and promote your business.

Don't know what the intended question was but I'm in the process of learning PPC and SEO. The tutorials listed above are a great start.

I used my PPC campaign to learn more about what the users were searching for when they visited my site. (search phrase) This allowed me to build out new landing pages that are tailored for the searcher. Google gives your PPC ad a quality score that is influenced by the destination URL. In learning what keywords the searcher uses you can focus more time on a page with SEO for the exact keyword. You can rank organically for that keyword specific page and get "free" clicks.

SEO takes time. I've been working on this method for a couple of months and like the results for the work.

Hi Torka,

Its great to see ideas being put in for a good ad words campaign. It is crucial that you make good sense out of keyword match types such as negative and exact matches.

This Google link is a good start:

If your target the wrong users in PPC the budget in the campaign will only waste on nothing and the worst no ROI. However creating the ad is crucial to the project.
