Default Running A Corporate Blog For A Cleaning Company

The title of the thread shows it well enough. I am looking for ideas and suggestions - How do you run your corporate blog? What is your vision for a cleaning company's blog?

Should it be more formal and informative, or should it be more fun, including creative posts about pets, nature, interesting places?

Just to mention, the business is based in London, which leads me to the idea of posts about local events. What do you think.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Best regards,
Daniel

@Daniel. Great question! Try to strike a fine balance between the two. Make it a little formal but strike a note with the locals. A blog need not be too formal - it gets boring. Since this is a cleaning company, you could throw in some of the lingo every now and then. But don't go overboard- definitely no vulgar language. Would love to see it, would critique it better!

I agree that a balance would probably be good. Just remember whenever you write a blog that you have to consider your audience. Who is your audience? Is what you're writing something that they would like to read? If you lose sight of who your audience is then you can get off track with your content.

Hey Daniel,

Looks clean alright...The content is arranged in a straightforward way. Precise, to the point-services you offer, prices, who you are,the FAQs. Great job by the way! Simplicity is key.

What I find fault in is the constricted space where the content itself is. It's sort of cramped up, I would rather some more room. I understand you would have to weigh whether shrinking the header and category section is a good idea, or doing away with the 'Book Now' 'Scroll to Top' section altogether.

Generally, all else looks great. You might consider throwing in some more testimonials in there though. Perhaps a blog later on to share your experiences and some other info you may want to share with your clientele. Now this is where that casual/business tone would apply. And just like I suggested earlier, a blend of business and casual tone here would be fine - not too informal. Relate the content with the customers - like you're speaking to them directly. That kind of thing. Hope this helps?

All the best and keep up the great work mate!

You should first consider the brand voice of the company and make sure you are writing in that voice. Deciding what to write about depends on the target audience. What do they want to know? What interests them and how can you align those interests with the company? It might help to create a few personas before you sit down to write.

Having a good balance of topics is great. I would start by creating a blog plan and then coming up with some content pillars. Content pillars are basically topics on which you can write 10 or more posts on. I have a class on all of this by the way Check out the link in my signature.

Maybe you can share tips on cleaning on your blog. Think about who are your target audience and what are the things that they will be interested in.
