SEO not Related To PPC?
I manage a lot of clients, and I can tell you clearly there is a coorelation but as they say, coorelation does not causation.
The main thing reason why this is happening is because Google's search ranking algorythm is heavily moving to enagement metrics due to the super cookies they have dropped on mostly everyones browsers already tracking most of what you do on the internet.
By running highly relevant PPC campaigns on the exact key phrases of what you do/offer, you are showing to Google that you are relevant for these things, and will be building a lot of enagement, sharing, and other helpful metrics that will please these parts of Googles algorythm. Finally, the repeat traffic that comes into Google related to your brand names that result from PPC discovery will REALLY show to Google how relevant you are will heavily affect your rankings over time.
So yes, but not directly. If you are focused on SEO alone in 2016 and not PPC, frankly either you are completly broke as a company or misinformed about how things work nowadays.
