Default To Friend Or Like

I have a Facebook personal profile and several FB Pages. I participate in a number of FB Groups. The Groups are all relevant to my business (coaching.) One of my Pages is my Coaching business page.

Here is my dilemma -- Many people from the Groups want to be Friends with me. I want to be associated (linked in some way) with these people because they are business associates but I don't want to share my personal family chit-chat with them, nor do I want to receive notices of their family goings-on. So, I don't want to "Friend' them.

I would really like them to Like my business Page, except that Other Peoples' posts on a business Page are more-or-less hidden and it is very difficult to hold a conversation on a business page. Also, it seems you cannot invite someone to Like your business Page unless they are already a Friend.

So, I'm stuck - should I accept the Friend invitations from business associates and put up with the family chit-chat, or go for an almost useless Like for my Page?

What do other business owners do?

Default Dont mix

I did a separate FB profile right from a start. Now I dont know if this an option for you, since you have probably now a lot of contacts on profile and if you do a new, you need to start again!?
