FB Groups are a potential goldmine
Yep — FB Groups are a whole other ball game if they're handled right.
There's no guarantee that 100% of group members will actually see your posts. A lot of members turn off notifications. But at least you get feedback on how many group members read your post.
And while most groups frown on self-promotion, they're happy for you to upload documents, images and videos that can help group members who download them from the FILES tab.
There's the opportunity: the quid pro quo that, in forums, says you can list a forum signature with promotional copy and links. You can promote yourself, provided you do it intelligently, with discretion.
I've had unexpectedly good responses to PDF docs, videos and Questionnaires, etc, that I've posted to FB Groups in my target audience. But it's only intelligent to spend a little time building awareness and credibility for yourself first, by answering questions, offering advice, tips, etc to Group members before uploading.
Apart from the courtesy angle, credibility has to be built and earned, which takes time and effort.
