Default Pagerank Is Really Dead?

Hello guys, Google Search Ranking Team in their Google Webmaster Central Blog says : "These signals include things like the specific words that appear on websites, the freshness of content, your region and PageRank." But, Previously google announced that, "Pagerank is dead"

please clear my doubt is it dead or not.

Okay so from what I've found Google still uses page rank only for internal purposes. Meaning - it's no longer available for the public to view.

Sam, that's correct. The public view was previously viewable in the toolbar. That view of pagerank on a 1 to 10 scale was simplified.

Google still uses pagerank, and I wouldn't expect it to go anywhere soon. Pagerank is fundamental to many things they do beyond ranking web pages. For instance, Googlebot crawls the web using pagerank. The higher pagerank pages get crawled first and more frequently when compared to the lower pagerank pages. Googlebot crawling is just one example of how Google still uses pagerank. And pagerank is (still) one factor of over 200 google uses to rank webpages.

Google Page rank is dead for public. The last public update was rolled out in December 2012.
But Google still use page rank factor as one of the most important factor of ranking your website.

Page rank is not visible to public now. It is not dead, Google can use Pagerank for their internal algorithms to decide authority of a website. But, it is not publicly available now.

Yes, I am also thinking same here about it.

PageRank is a very flexible algorithm that models an aspect of reality (= preferential attachment). I don't think Google would want to lose track of reality, even not a little bit.

So even if there are viable replacements, there would be no need to "kill" PageRank computation at Google unless the amount of computational power saved outweighs the degradation of overall ranking quality.

Pagerank is alive and well. Google just hides it as it was a factor that causes misuse of backlinks.

I will add this, I use a lot of SEO software. The closest thing I've found to Pagerank is Domain Rank, a metric from Ahrefs.

I hardly bother about pagerank of any third party recourse while linking to them because i think pagerank is the least important thing to bother about.
