I agree with Diane that you should do what works best for your business. This entails figuring out where your customers are hanging out online. They're likely all on Facebook, but are they interested in interacting with your business on Facebook? If they're slightly more social media and tech savvy then they're likely on Twitter. If they are very professional in nature they're likely on LinkedIn, and if they're women they're probably on Pinterest.

The second thing you need to think about is what are you selling? If you're selling something in the B2B market, LinkedIn might be the best choice because people visit that site with business in mind. If you're selling something visually appealing (and note this can be pretty much any product) then Pinterest might be of value to you. When considering Pinterest keep in mind that your product itself doesn't have to be "girly" to appeal to the Pinterest crowd. For example, at work our custom flash drive board is actually starting to rank in the SERPs and the images aren't girly, they're just interesting.

So, put some thought and research into figuring out where your customers are spending their time online and what their motivations for going there are and that should help you prioritize your social media efforts.
