The best way to track the website traffic is to use Google Analytics. Its an easy process, just need to place the Google analytics code in your website and monitor the report from Google Analytics.

I use both and are free. It gives you great information

Also, I use tracking phone numbers. You can set up a different # for each marketing campaign. ex. direct mail, google adwords, directory listings, youtube ect.

Know where your paying customers are coming from

I always use siterank.me to check the traffic or any information of my website and competitor website. Siterank also show you the location of the click and the info or website's owner. Good Luck

You can use Google Analytics. It is very good tool to analyze all stats such as no of page views and their sources. It is a complete package.

Google analytics can be a great tool, but if you lack the knowledge and skills to set it properly you will have a lot of misleading data. You will certainly want to only track the visitors that matter, i.e. you would not want to have visitors from Jamaica within you report, if you service has a local focus, let's say within an Europe counttry. Plus you'll have to isolate the number of fake visits and referrals that pollute your data. Best way is to find somebody skillfull enough to do it for you, otherwise you're in for quite a lot of reading

You can track the number of hits to your website by configure the google analytics to your website. You can also track the Organic clicks to your website with use of webmaster tools.

There are a variety of analytics tools out there however Google Analytics is probably one of the best free ones. One drawback of GA is that it will not give you IP address details of incoming traffic. Another good free analytics tool that does give IP details is Piwik. To get a good overall view it is sometimes best to use data from a variety of sources.
