For anyone in Florida I know the most affordable/competitive insurance carriers are Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Healthcare.

I suggest you to get at least 3 to 5 quote to make the most of your chances of getting the best deal offered. You will observe that various insurance companies give out different quotes and some can even differ by a couple of thousands of dollars. You can use insurance comparison sites to get multiple quotes at once for better comparison and time saving. Use the websites that are local to your area.

I just looked at Assurant and it looks good but the thing to remember when looking at the rates is to find out how much it will cost you and your average health care appointments and medicines. Be sure to compare many different plans and find out if your doctor is covered and how many hospitals in your area and the areas you travel to are covered. Many of these plans don't cover out-of-network. Out-of-network could mean about 5% of hospitals nationwide or it could mean 95% of hospitals nationwide. Check with your doctor on how much your doctor appointments in the past have cost. Use this information to see how much the plan would cost you. Some have doctor co-pays while others don't . This may or may not cost you more or less depending on what your doctor charges. Also take a look at your monthly prescriptions and determine how much you will pay. Again this can vary dramatically from plan to plan.

First, you can ask an insurance agent to find a cheap health insurance that suits your needs. It's not always the price but the coverage and benefits you will get that are included in the insurance package that you are going to buy.
