I think the most important thing is to have great on-page optimization with unique and long paragraphs of content on your website.

You want to sign up for all article directories and sites where you can post about other websites/pages. You will then want to talk about your niche and link yourself to all your other pages.

I think this is the most important part of getting organic traffic to your website.

I would suggest writing about yourself on wikipedia, and add a link or two to your site. Just make sure that your article about your business is neutral and based on facts and facts only.

If you wanted to get organic traffic then pay attention with the keyword that you were using, use relevant keywords to your site also check your competitors and search amount of the keyword you choose, it will give idea on what keyword to use, after picking the right keyword all you had to do is gain backlinks, quality backlinks matters the most so pay attention with it, try to aim the first spot in search engines and it will help you to gain organic traffic.. it may sound vague but there are lots of articles that you can read. =)

Content, content, and more content. In many cases, Google seems to reward websites with a lot of content and multiple pages. Also, try and repeat specific keywords you are targeting in different parts of your website - this will generally increase your rankings.

Default Getting traffic from Google and Yahoo

If you're looking to get traffic from two of the major search engines you can go about it two different ways. One way is to buy text ads like the ones you see on the right after you enter in some keywords for a search. Depending on the keywords you use, it might be rather costly. If you have a lot of competition for those keywords you might try phrases with those keywords in them. The other way you can get traffic from search engines is the organic way. This can take awhile and requires more work on your part. Each search engine places different importance on things like context, backlinks, age of domain, to name a few. You might want help with this to fully understand what will make your site show up on the first to third page since people don't go beyond that.

The first step in generating organic traffic to your website is to have enough unique content in your site. Unique content is a very attractive food for search engines. All your inner pages should be linked from the homepage. The first page a search engine is going to visit is your homepage. Once it indexes your homepage it looks for further information through these links.
