Wait, what's cheap? The ideas or the furniture?

Contact restaurants, cafes, B&Bs and even offices.

If your pieces are really good, I recommend a paid article ona syndicated magazine.

I agree with several of Pete's points.... I agree furniture buying is an experience where you have to sit on the cushions....however I still think there's potential for advertising online (for sales, etc.)...the customers are still going to have to come visit your store to look at everything.

I understand why Pete and gunther say that, as that was my natural inclination also many years ago. But, it is not correct. People buy leather couches online every day, bunk beds too. And many, many, many other items.

One of my clients was an online furniture store. Easily over $1m in online sales per year.

Not all, but many/enough people will buy furniture online.

In regards to sales, I believe one of the top online furniture stores is www.furniturefind.com.

Staying with the offline world you could hold some kind of PR event. Hold a sleep over in the store, have someone get married there every Tuesday, etc. This stuff gets you in the press (even online) and will bring people to the store. The more people come, the more you will sell.

If you are running website for that then try online marketing idea like affiliate marketing, search engine marketing, search engine optimization.

My dear first of all you should be advertise your product through multimedia.This is the best tool to introduce your product.Some one say these golden words:
That thing is seeing,that thing is selling.
Ans secondly you should be select penetration strategy in your product prices.

Default Best Advice Ever

I have a small furniture business in Terre Haute, Indiana that i was seriously considering closing down until, I started offering No Credit Financing thru Check-90.
Highly Recommend this for anybody in our business. Not only do i get more customers coming in the door, its like word of mouth on steroids.
I thought it would bring in the low life type crowd at first, but its not like that at all. Their system requires that the customer has a job, a checking account, and have no bad checks currently "out there."
Otherwise they are approved. they say they approve 78% of the public.
Mattress sales specifically, took off. Not just in volume, but the average ticket for mattresses after the first month went up 40%. Great for add on sales as well they went up 350%
Another thing is I don't have to discount to these people. They are just grateful they don't have to pay Rent-A-Center prices to own their furniture now.
4 out of 5 usually ask about the No Credit Needed Financing right away, literally, as soon as you start talking, its the first thing out of their mouth.
So it becomes a great ice breaker, you don't have to hope they will open up to you, like i said they just start asking questions about the financing right away. Not mention how important it is to build a relationship for that few minutes they are in the store.

So in conclusion:
1.STAND OUT! have a Niche
2. Find a 100% commission Marketing company that brings in lots and lots of traffic, that you only pay per customer, AFTER, the customer pays.
3.Increase your Prices to the high end competition in town. (Not Aarons or RAC type prices though).
4. Get Repeat Customers that spread the word faster than you ever could with a color page ad.

Being able to offer No Credit Needed Financing has Done all of this for me. Price is no longer a factor, in fact this new market i have picked up are going to be my most loyal customers ever, I can just tell by their excitement. I really can't remember being anymore excited then i am right now about life.
The customers are just grateful for my unique service and I close people i would normally never have a shot with. Within 48 hours I get paid by check-90 for the full amount of the ticket and they (check-90) take a fee that the customer is happy to pay for since they are helping them break up their payments and take their furniture home that day.
Look into Check-90.com, it will ramp up business almost overnight. Hope this helps out

Default Marketing ideas

Have to agree with Logan. On line sales for furniture are now huge. Relative to the cost of setting up a website and carrying out some basic local search engine optimisation, you should gain sales that will be good.

Whether we like it or not on-line marketing is here to stay.
