Lightbulb Outsource Book-keeping To India - Your Views

What are your views on outsourcing book-keeping to India. Most of you might have issues like patriotism, fear of data security, quality of work etc ...
Please share them here.
Not just the businessmen, I would also like the opinion of accounting firms on this. Outsourcing routine and monotonous tasks like bookkeeping can result in huge cost savings.

We are a Chartered Accountants' firm based in India. We have been doing bookkeeping for over 20 years. Some five years back we were requested by a mid-size US IT company to do their bookkeeping. We had not worked with someone overseas before, so we were reluctant. But things worked out really well. In fact, the company now has a full-fledged office here to do all their back-office accounting work.
Despite the riches it promises, people are still reluctant.

I feel that outsourcing bookkeeping provides a tremendous advantage to everybody. It is being done, but not a large scale. So what prevents it?
For example would you outsource your bookkeeping to an Indian firm? If not, why?
If you are an accounting firm, would you outsource your clients' bookkeeping to India? This will give you a huge strategic advantage over your competitors.

We would like to explore this territory more - the business prospects et al. Please reply.

My vision on all topics like this is... you pay the cost of what you get.
