It is indeed high time we all turn pro social media. That said, it is quite understandable if people think Facebook is not ideal for B2B marketing. Facebook is a place where we have our friends and family. No hard selling and bargaining can happen here. The way the place is, you have to disguise/sugar coat your selling intentions. This is a perfect environment for B2C and less of a place to talk serious business.
That said, there are companies that are gaining leads from good marketing on Facebook but it depends greatly on the nature of product/service that is in offering. However, Social media is new and the possibilities are limitless, but it is understandable why lots of people find Facebook unattractive for B2B
