Default Help with Esellerate.net

Hi.

How many people here have used Esellerate?
I've got some stuff set up, but my biggest problem so far has been actually getting in contact with the people there!
It's a bit frustrating. The whole system seems to be really well done, and quite useful, but I have a couple issues that I can't seem to get resolved.

Hi LPS,

I've used them and I think my account should still be open. Let me know where you are having problems and I'll see if I can help.

I had the same experience as you - the people are tough to reach but it is a really nice system.

Robert: Well, so far it seems that the best way to contact them is via phone. I always seem to get through that way.

I appreciate your offer to help. I do have questions.

Do you know any resources that I could go to which cover the HTML code types used in the store pages? There's some tags and such that I'm not familiar with.

If you aren't familiar with the tags, it may be that it isn't your typical html, but a set of "home grown" tags that work with their system to pull in information from the database or other areas.

For example, here is something that I pulled from one of the store templates:

<span _if="_Sku.HasTrialDownload">

Can you put up an example of some of the tags that are unfamiliar?

Robert: I'm getting the hang of the templates.

One question however.

When I link to the esellerate site from my home page, should I let it open within the frame, or should I use target=new and let the esellerate site open in a new window?

If it's not a security thing, I wouldn't mind having the esellerate store open within the main window frame on my site. That way the navigation bar stays on the side (though I'm just now thinking of why that could be bad...)

Any suggestions?

Another question. I'm really REALLY confused about this whole Product / SKU thing.

If I have a ball, and it comes in red, blue, and green. Is the Ball the SKU, and the different ball types (colors) the products?

My catalog keeps showing the title for the SKU, not the product, but if I go to edit the SKU and/or product, ...I'm just confused.

I'm pretty sure "products" can be thought of as a categories and SKUs fall within categories as items.

Products = Balls
SKU1 = Red ball
SKU2 = Blue ball
SKU3 = Green ball

Looking at the esellerate's site it really is confusing how they've worded things.

The only reason I could think of for not having your sales pages open in the frame is it creates opportunities for customers to click the wrong thing. Keeping the order process as simple as possible is important in my opinion.
