The same way people got business projects and clients before the web was invented -- advertise (TV, radio, print), call prospects, visit them or send them direct mail.

Right. The manual way of starting up a business. Use leaflets to promote business in your local area, pay radio stations, newspapers and television for ads, and the effective word-of-mouth advertising.

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

The only thing I can add is that if you have a business you should have a website. In this day and age I think websites are extremely important to businesses. Not only does it add a level of legitimacy to your business, but it's a great way to market and advertise.

To be totally honest I've gotten to the point were if a company I'm dealing with does not have a website, it makes me feel a bit apprehensive about doing business with them.

Plus there are many web hosting packages out there that are really inexpensive. Good luck!

My first thought was to click on your link in your signature and found out that you have a web site talking about linking stratagies.

Hmmmmmmmmm..........Wondering if you are more interested in visitors to the link in your signature........

Hi qlb,
You don't specify the style of business. To get any sort of quality advise you will need to give us a clue! The reasons for this are obvious.

I have to agree with MKTGbiz -- seems to me you have a website, especially since your service is "linking strategies." Rather than subterfuge, why not come right out and ask for advice on marketing your website. You might also want to correct the typo in the first line of your website for credibility reasons.
