Default Business Blogging Now

Mr. Barry Welford has a a great article on using blogs in business. He talks about everything from the what is a blog, why do business use them, and what to put in them.

"Blogging and blogs are a hot topic in business circles now. Their very character is the reason for the explosive growth in blogging that is occurring. Here we will give you a bird's eye view of the key elements involved. It will give you the What and the Why and a little of the How."

Default What do you think of a blog ABOUT BUSINESS?

Since last November I've had a blog consisting of essays on a variety of topics regarding running a business. The essays are based on my experience as a CEO before I retired. It addresses issues concerning both management and employees. Essays are added every two weeks. I have no idea how many are accessing the blog since no comments are left. However, occasionally I meet someone in person who reveals that they've been following the blog. It's like dropping a stone in a silent pool. This blog, unlike most company blogs, seeks only to generate thinking and discussion. I'd appreciate having your comment on it. You can find it at www.businesswisdom.blogspot.com. Thanks.

Talking Blog for future clients

I started a blog 6 months ago for my freelance web design company. Now I am listed on the first page of search engines for my "niche" keywords. Today I receive daily inquiries about my "sales funnel design" services. When I recieve these inquiries I ask how they found me. After they tell me the keywords they used to find me, I then immediatley blog more on that subject. This boosts my rankiings even more.

For instance I have been doing some design work for NetSuite Clients (an ecommerce application). After I determine that this is an area to expand my business, I then blog several times about it that subject.

I even recommend blogs to all my clients to help them get more exposure. This doesnt matter what business they are involved in. If they have someone dedicated to write content about there industry, their blog with increase traffic to the website. Plus, soon RSS with be the norm. What is better than free traffic.

Thumbs up Business Blogs are Great!

I agree with the comments about blogs for business.

It's a fantastic way to get visibility in the search engines and to "connect" with prospects and customers.

Hugh, I think your blog is very insightful, and I do visit from time to time. One recommendation is that you link to other blogs. That way you will get more attention faster.
