Default How to Become a Millionaire

HOW TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE
The Old Way versus the New
(An Ode to the Nineties)

A few years ago when I read in the Wall Street Journal that 77 percent of college students expected to become millionaires, I thought they were dreaming. On second thought, I wondered how unrealistic their expectations actually were. Because so many young people working in finance, the Internet, computers, software, sports, and entertainment had become virtually instant millionaires, I had to admit that their expectations were not unfounded.

If you are interested in the surprising conclusion the remainder of this essay may be found at businesswisdom.blogspot.com.

Hi Hugh!

Welcome to the forum. I really enjoyed your article. I wish all business owners could have your attitude, there would be a lot more happier employees and self satisfied people. The work ethic today is more of a get rich quick than the hard work and persevere ethic. Things seem a bit backward. Please join in the forum anytime, we would enjoy hearing from you.

Linda

Default All About Business

Thanks for your response, Linda. I hope to introduce an article on how to successfully run a business every couple of weeks. The next one will concern irresponsible and unqualified boards of directors. Just think, if the directors were responsible and conscientious at Enron and Worldcom how things could have been different.

Cordially,
Hugh

Thanks for your comment, Valerie. Yes, every couple of weeks I'll be introducing an article on how to successfully run a business. Each one will be based on my experience that describe policies that succeeded and some that failed.

Thanks for your encouragement, Robert. Linda, Valerie. I suppose I'm on a mission to be brutally honest concerning what business is really about, and it's much more than about simply making a profit. More essays will come if I continue to get reactions like yours.
