Default Who Prints Gift Certificates

I want to offer gift certificates for my auto detailing services for the holidays. Does any one know of anyone who prints really nice certificates at affordable prices?

Also.. is there anything I should consider when issuing gift certificates?

Thanks,

Sam

I don't have anything special to share, except a word of caution. I have seen a few clients spend a bit of money to get the ultimate gift certificate program established only to find that there wasn't much interest. Before spending money on creating a gift certificate program, I would establish something small with little cost .(you can do it yourself) .. and evaluate if it is a legit tactic for your business. Once a gift certificate program is established and you are consistently selling gift certificates, then I would consider investing more into the costs of a program ... but not until then - as it always/usually doesn't fly very far based on my own experiences. At the same time, of course gift certificates do work well for some.

Remember too that all unused gift certificates are a "liability" to your company on the books....as the money is taken in...but the service hasn't been provided yet.

We're actually in the middle of doing a test run... I had 100 gift cards made. So far so good, but that's what I would suggest... do a test run.. a small order and see how successful it is. That way you're not risking a ton of money or time on something that isn't going to pan out. Let people know it's a test run, get their input. See how it goes..

Thanks for your replys... as with everything I do to promote my business, I always test the waters. Im am still only in the beginning phases and cannot take any unnecessary risks.

So, does any one know of a quality printer that prints certificates in small amounts? I would consider printing them myself, but I have been having printer complications! lol

Wink

Have you tried going trough Google's web directory? The results in there are sorted by rank.

I would think buying a new printer would be cheaper than paying a shop to help you with a small run. Outside of that for testing a local office supply should be able to help. Sometimes they have gift certificates already that you can personalize as well. My first step wouldn't be online if you are looking small and simple.

Here is one place you might find some. Unfortunately, there are several missing graphics. Those 2 are like checks, 3 up with a duplicate that stays in the book.

The other 2 are individual.

To be honest, this is my site. I sell loads of computer checks and invoices to POS customers I set up in the 90's. They still buy checks, etc. from me, so I keep up the site.

It is actually a wholesale side of NEBS. Same products and quality as NEBS, but usually priced lower.

I don't know if this is the answer, but you can get going for under $ 100.

Best to avoid the menu. Just type gift certificate in the search window and you'll go right to them.

The most moderate cost would be to print your own.

Use someone elses printer that you know is working.

Create your own, or use something like
theholidayzone.com/christmas/cgiftcert.html

(that is not a website I am in anyway affiliated with, I just simply
did a google search for "print gift certificates") You'll find many
other resources by doing a google search for those keywords.

To generate interest in your gift certificate program, offer
a $25 certificate for $20. The buyer of the certificate can
get a $25 value for $20, and they can give it to someone
as a gift.

If the gift certificates work, you may want to invest in a small lot
of plastic gift cards, which are processed directly through your credit
card swipe terminal.

Good luck

Has anyone tried to promote gift certificates online? I am trying to do more online promoting for the holidays, and want to give it a try.
