Default Facebook 16% Rule, True Or False?

So I recently found a techcrunch article on Facebook Business Page Posts and it stated that only about 16% of Fans see posts from a business. Is this true? Makes sense, since this is where Facebook makes revenue from 'Boosting Posts'. Any thoughts?

I don't know about this. But if you want to boost post, you need to know your targeted customers that beneficial for your business. Create a catchy content and share with them. Create and join groups related to your topic.

I've recently read an article that claims the following: "Your posts don’t reach exactly 16% of your fans, but most likely a little more or a little less — sometimes a lot more or a lot less." You can read more about it here: http://www.convinceandconvert.com/co...despread-myth/

Facebook wants the business to pay for each contact with customers. A bit of a rip-off in my view and will not make businesses inclined to use the service. On the other hand, Facebook is otherwise free to use and to setup a page.

But, a few key fans who regularly visit the business pages to see on their own what is new, who then post about biz news on their personal news feeds which are then seen by all their friends, can have a viral effect.

I'd work on getting Facebook fans into an email list so you don't have to pay every time you have something new to say.

The last five posts to my FB business page averaged 16 views each with 1187 likes (fans) - that is, 1½% of my followers see my posts.

Of course, you can see for yourself what your exposure is.

Also, not all your friends see your profile posts, either, but I don't know how to determine the view ratio, in this case.

It depends on how you connect with your target audience. For me its kinda true since we are targeting international clients, so our reach was way below 16%. Google plus on the other hand works best on our advantage.
