Default Advice Needed For Selling Advertising Space

I'm starting an article/blogging website and want to sell advertising space for banner ads. At this time, we don't intend to use any ad networks, and advertisers can not set their own price. I'm asking for a suggested minimum price for both PPC and CPM ads. Thanks.

Default Advice Needed For Selling Advertising Space

I'm starting an article/blogging website and want to sell advertising space for banner ads. At this time, we don't intend to use any ad networks, and advertisers can not set their own price. I understand that there are several factors to consider such as ad size, placement, traffic, etc. So I'm asking for a suggested minimum price for both PPC and CPM ads (in US dollars). Thanks.

As much as possible

Hi Kevin, that's a tough question to answer for anyone. There are so many factors, including how well your visitors are targeted to the advertiser. If you want a suggestion, which is all it really is, I'd go with 50 cents or less for ppc and anywhere from $10 or $15 up to $100 per month for cpm based on the number of impressions you have.

My approach instead would be to figure out what your competition is charging, and use that as a guide initially. Then once you have advertisers, get to know them and how your traffic is converting for them if at all. Charging anything, even a dollar, for advertising that doesn't convert isn't going to work for you or the advertisers.

First more focus your blog/website to make it informative for user. After your all positive efforts it can be possible. Someone may contact you for advertisement on your website. You can start 5 cents to dollars. It all depends on how qualitative & good traffic on your site.

Alternative, you can also use Google Adsense services.

personally I wouldn't worry about selling ad space until you have a good consistent following of about 10,000 views a day.

That's really true gpurdey. A good amount of traffic is actually very important for those who are trying their luck in this field. As for keeping your work known and profitable you need good control over the targeted people.
