Trust Agents by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith. Another great book is The Whuffie Factor by Tara Hunt.

Default Social Media Books

I feel that social media changes so fast that it's hard to find good books. By the time they get through the publication process, many things about social media have changed.

Instead, I spend a little time each week reading blog articles. One great place to find a list of blogs for your business area is AllTop.com. They have a huge list of social media blogs.

I do love the work of David Meerman Scott.

I can also recommend The Now Revolution by Jay Baer (and he has a co-author).

Hi Karen

I have been doing social media for local business since late 2007. This year I decided to write an ebook about starting and running such a business from my own experiences. It's called "Your Social Media Business".

But SocialMediaDIY is right- it is a quickly changing landscape, and any real lengthy tome on the subject will be outdated pretty fast. So my information is more like a guide, a 30 page DIY entrepreneurial manual for a bootstrapped social media business. It might not be what you are looking for, but I thought I'd throw it out there for your consideration.

Here's a handy top 5 list from Mashable.

http://mashable.com/2009/11/13/socia...a-book-review/

Books are great if you're looking to learn the basics, as they are often presented in a way that's easier for novices to understand. But if you're looking to learn advanced techniques, you're really better off searching for stuff on the Web. Mashable itself is a pretty good resource. Good luck!
