Note that this is different from transferring a domain to a registrar with whom you have not previously obtained an account. Many registrars charge you for opening an account or for re-registering the domain, but the transfer itself is free.

You will need to wait for 60 days after you first register a domain to be able to transfer it, and you cannot transfer it within 60 days of the end of your registration period. Registrars cannot hold your domain transfer up in any way, and must fully cooperate with the registrar to whom the domain is being transferred to effect the transfer within 5 days of it being requested.

The complete ICANN Transfer Policy can be found here.
Are you referring to pushing a name from one person to another within the same registrar? I ask because I have never heard of anyone being able to transfer a name from one registrar to another for free; however, you do get another year's registration included in the transfer fee.

Also, if you make any changes on godaddy you are signing that you agree not to transfer out of godaddy for an additional 60 days. You can, however, push the name to another godaddy customer within that timeframe.

I have my domain registered with HostRail com. HIGHLY recommend! They charge 7.77/year for dot coms. Their customer service is superb and they do all the transferring for you. Good luck!

yes, Godaddy is the biggest registrar and well known in USA,but in my opinion, Godaddy prefer big reseller with many domains, while not care small reseller much, so i choose Onlinenic, they also take small reseller seriously, and their price is cheaper.

Yes, you can change the name. BUt, you need to pay. The pay if equal to that of the buying a new domain name.
