Default Importing From China

Out of general interest, do any members of this forum currently import from China/Hong Kong.

I'm finding all of the legal regulations for importing from China.

Can anybody else here give some idea.

Sure. Find a shipping company in China/HK that is used to exporting to your country (USA?) and have them take care of the paperwork, quotas etc.

One of the things that you have to remember is that if you are buying from them you are the customer. If they want your money then they will help and if they can't or won't help then find another supplier who will.

I import from China on a regular basis. My experience which includes some time spent in that country says that without due diligence you can end up in a sticky situation. The production out there rocks. But if you want to make certain changes in a product's attributes (design, specs etc.) you are in for a tough time. Since most manufacturers only speak Mandarin, unless you are a great communicator you'll have a tough time ahead.
