Default New Article - Will Search Learn To Share With Its Little Brother, Social Networks?

Authored by: BJ Cook

Full Text: http://www.searchengineguide.com/cook/007827.html

A Snippet:

As Google continues to grab more of a market share in search with its three percentage point rise to 50 percent in April, its little brother social networks gains ground in overall online advertising impressions. Is this a significant milestone?

Default Search is Keeping an Eagle-Eye on Social Network

Clearly search engines are not standing still. Yahoo! bought Flickr and del.icio.us. Google recently launched Picasa Web Album, while no tagging supports, it allows people to place comment. Google also owned Blogger blog platform. The list goes on and on..

The question is: who is going to buy MySpace?

Networking of any kind has always been a good way to market a business and social networking sites are just another type of networking.

Social networking site appear to be staying and I don't see them disappearing anytime soon if ever. Search engines aren't going anywhere either and I'm sure the two will co-exist fine.
