I think that's not a good option. You'll spend cash to hire someone just to moderate your blog. The best option is installing a free spam plugin.

Akismet is a good option--as well as a captcha.

You could also use Disqus or Comment Luv.

Try closing each blog post to comments after about 2 weeks.
This will give the spammer less to aim at and keep the newer material topical.
Comments are usually welcome on most blogs but after a while they spoil the integrity of the blog.

I agree with KhleSmizth.. i think askismet is already installed in wordpress now.. and takes it all spam comments to spam box.

sometimes moderators cannot catch a spammer like plugins.

Akismet and captcha can reduce spam from your Wordpress blog significantly. If you get hundreds of spam everyday, it'll be reduced to around two or three in a given day.

I myself use Akismet to cut-down spam comments. And it's proved to be a great tool for the last couple of years.

So far it seems to get the job done.

Never heard of these 2 before are they free & do they work better than Askimet? Thanks for the recommendation!

I agree with you sometimes a blog can have way too many comments to, which may be good for the blog post but sometimes it's easy for your audience to get lost to.

A lot of bloggers don't look at it this way but I've seen some where I've wanted to leave or share a comment but there are so many I just felt like my comment wasn't needed!
