One of the biggest sources of traffic to your blog will be search engines, particularly Google. You can boost the traffic that comes to your blogs from search engines by implementing search engine optimization (SEO) tricks into your blog layout and writing. You can get started by doing some keyword research and determining which keywords are likely to drive the most traffic to your blog.

I am using tumblr, too, but have had great success with weebly - it is so easy to get started with.

Can I add, for less experienced readers, that there are TWO variations of WordPress available?
  • WordPress.com which is a free, hosted-for-you blog service (which is the one referred to in this topic).
  • WordPress.org which is NOT a hosted-for-you blog service. This is the repository for the WordPress software, themes, plugins, etc that you can download to use for your self-hosted blogs and websites (WordPress is much more than just a blog).

Is really worth using the free versions of these web 2.0 properties to create quick simple and most importantly low cost ways to build multiple sites across different keyword rich domains.

That is the key in my opinion.

Hi,
I like to think that some well placed keyword blogs with a few seo pages can work wonders for traffic and help with conversion.
