Default Would YOU Read This?

As a small business owner, what do you want to read about in a blog? If you could create and mold the perfect blog, what information would it provide? What would keep your attention and make you a returning reader?
Stories? Useful tips? Industry secrets? Interviews?

I want to start writing a blog but want to make sure that I'm providing interesting/thoughtful information to my readership. I've seen some great blogs and some terrible one (from businesses), but also realize that my opinion doesn't really matter since I'll be the writer.

What do you think? What do you want to read about?

Is it going to be a general-interest small business blog, or are you thinking about focusing on a particular niche or aspect of business?

My answer might be different depending on what the specific topic of the blog will be.

We would want to keep it focused on topics on which we can provide worthwhile content - so it would be focused on finance/lending. I want the posts to be helpful, so more than anything I would want to cater to the needs of our audience (small businesses).

I think that stories, useful tips, industry secrets, and interviews would all be interesting. As long as you provide a ton of value, I think that people who have an interest in your industry/niche will return to your blog.

Have you ever considered doing a video blog? Just an idea -- it could differentiate your blog from all of the other blogs out there in your niche.

Just focus your blog on what you really want to voice out about your business. Just follow your thoughts and make it relevant to your readers. Try to seek some tips on how to begin it.

People seem to really like lists- 10 best or 10 worst, 15 Great Ways to...etc

Also, write about stuff you know and like. It will come across to your readers as such.

Usefull techniques not just tips, real lessons on how to do stuff.....I did this on my Guitar Lesson site and it's ranked huge on Google these past 4 years.
If you want people and traffic then give them the real deal !!
Most websites are endless keywords........sure you need rankings ..so rank several pages, but get some real pages involved.

So many times, even on my own webistes , and on the main home pages....I want to say I'm sorry at times.......maybe wish I could just say...OK Folks the Keywords are out of the way now.........just head on to my other pages, there you'll find my real website..........it's sad the keywords rule the Internet so much these days.
