Default Looking For Some Help From Small Business Owners

So I am pursuing a business, but missing the key ingredient, a problem to solve. Im looking for that pain that affects enough people in which to begin, but of course finding that has become much easier said than done.

I have a general idea, but am hoping for some feedback from users to narrow it down.

Right now I am looking at virtual data (data on the web, i.e dropbox) for small businesses or an industry that is in need of it. With technology creating a paperless world, we have already seen so many businesses eliminate the physical documents and have opted for sharing files via the web/software.

From what I have seen small businesses are not yet using this technology or in a limited capacity. Im wondering from others, do you think there is a market and real need for virtual data tailored for small businesses that will help them become more efficient and increase revenue.

I know this is a pretty broad question, Im just trying to understand the problems that small business owners are facing and if there is a product/software that I could create in order to help them.

What sort of data do you think a small biz would want virtual? Being a small biz owner myself, I use my FTP to upload images to my clients. My pain is that it's a hassle to upload the images to the ftp... then I need to create a secure page so my client can get access to their files. So I think the overall PAIN is the time wasted setting things up. I though of using dropbox, but I can't customize it.

Anyway, I'm just rambling. But I know where you're coming from... it's tough to find out a potential customers real pain or problem... and hope that a lot of people have that same prob.

I believe there is a market, but you need to price your services at a rate that is affordable to small businesses.

Right now I am looking into creating a website review service. It seems to be a good and growing market with a lot of demand with web start-ups growing as well. Now the research will go into understanding what customers want and how I can differentiate my site from others.

Website review services are useless. There are a lot of people posting to boost a company's reputation. Website reviews cannot be a trusted source of information.

Sorry I meant website testing services, where users can have their website tested for usability, design, navigation, etc. For me its all about creating more efficient websites for users, as I have been in the same position and website testing is invaluable information.

Yeah I guess website testing service would be good and something that I am interested to use in the future.

I used to work for IBM and they always do this with their public facing sites - although they call it 'website auditing'
