Default Help With Business Ideas

Hi everyone, i'd really appreciate your input on trying to figure out business ideas. I was in the military for 11.5 years as a services officer. I have managed lodging facilities, dining facilities and fitness centers. I am detail oriented and very organized. I also have a background in event organizing although military ceremonials are dramatically different from civilian events.

I'm having a hard time translating those skills into a business idea. Oh I should mention that I have a BS and MS in exercise physiology however would prefer not to be a fitness trainer so that I can leverage my time to do other things. I would prefer an idea that starts off small and then I can grow the business to employ others. I guess I should say that's my true passion, to create a business that creates job opportunities for others (especially women and working mothers).

Thank you

My wife and I have a couple in our church that started a Boot Camp in the mornings. I know you said you don't prefer to be a trainer so this may not be something you're interested in, but with your military experience you could hold a boot camp. I don't how much a boot camp like this is, but if you charged $100 per month and had 50 clients that's $5000 per month. Most boot camps are in the morning here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area so you would have the rest of the day free afterwards.

Thanks rreger, I guess I can revisit the idea. I've done group exercises before but not for pay, in the military.

Hiya,

I was just reading about this woman who started a kind of recruitment website for people who are or used to be in the Military. I'm not 100% sure what it was all about and I don't know if I'm allowed to post any links here, but if I can, then I can give you the link.

Maybe that would be of interest for you.

Fitness related businesses have been growing in recent years. Number of franchises related to fitness are on the rise. With your military background and credentials I see this as a very good fit for you. I like the idea of boot camp that previous commentator brought up. you mentioned that you don't want to be a trainer, but you can train part-time and hire others to do it while to focus on building a business and train part-time.

Good luck.

Starting a new business is really great challenge, but as a army men there should not be any difficulties for you. I suggest to firstly research on market demands, local issues, business issues etc. so that you could run a successful business.
