Talking Help For A Beginner

Hi. Im new in the business game and would appreciate as much help from you guys as possible.

I live in Peterborough which is a booming city. A friend of mine owns a real busy take away. Whilst talking to him the other day, he told me that the local cash and carry and has put up all the prices for his stock. ie, from vegtable oil to plastic cups. His weekly bill has gone up by 600!

I imagine this is the same everywhere else. I took it upon my self to start searching for cheaper products for my friend, but unfortunatley, cant really find anything. I want to set up a mini (hoping to expand) cash and carry service and offer cheaper products to these guys.

Is there anyone out there in the similar trade who can advise me on where to go?? It would be highly appreciated!!

Hope to hear from you soon.

I wonder why the cost of inventory is moving up while the retail industry worldwide is facing a slowdown. Is it possible for you and your friends to switch suppliers?

If you guys have extra cash flow to buy in bulk, I would suggest to approach the manufacturers or wholesalers directly instead of purchasing from a retailer. That way, the mark up charged on your inventory will not be that high.
