Default Installing Windows

Hi,

After a fresh xp home installation my machine was running fine.

I then installed my printer - epson cx3200 printer and my adsl modem - bt voyager...

Thereafter my machine upon booting and after displaying the xp window hangs before it goes into window AND

when it gets into windows AVG does not load, I get a "language error" AND

Sometimes I get missing DLL file or system32 file error...

Whats happened? How do I rectify this error?

Please help

Thanks in advance...

From your Start - Run, try running SFC or SFC /f Or sfc /r) - one of those and I think that it might help.

I recomend you to repair your windows coz of the systm32 and missing .dll file error. Sometimes the system files get currupted and displays thses types of errors.

Neither your printer nor your ADSL "modem" require additional drivers. Did you use the CDs that came with the printer and modem? If so ... they undoubtedly damaged at least one system file.

First, unplug both the printer and the modem from your computer, then boot up, then go to Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore, and restore your system to its earliest "Restore Point", which was automatically created when you finished installing Windows.

This should get you back to working condition by "rolling back" the changes made by your printer and modem installations. It won't use the damaged system files, rather it will grab the original, good files from the restore point's "safe" directory.

Once you're back up and running with the fresh system, simply plug in the printer, let Windows find it, and let Windows install its own driver for it. DO NOT use the CD that came with the printer. Then, do the same with the modem, and remember NOT to use the CD that came with it. Let Windows use its own files.

Setting up the modem does not require the CD. You have your login and access number info already from your ADSL service provider, and you can simply type that into the modem setup dialog when you start it up.

Let us know how it goes.

You better try a roll-back of drivers. Use System Restore in System tools. Restore your system to the point at driver install. Use admin user in safe mode. Then just plugin ur printer n allow XP to install its own drivers.... dont use ur CD.
