There's a difference between posting a small "avatar" type image for your profile and posting full-sized photos of yourself and your family/friends to online photo albums.
Given the size and nature of those images, it's very unlikely anybody else could use a photo avatar for anything particularly nefarious.
The other pictures, though... well, I don't know that there would be much demand for hacked photos of non-celebrities. I could be wrong, of course -- perhaps there's a thriving market out there somewhere. But I do know there have been cases of people losing their jobs (or not getting invited to job interviews) because of photos they posted to Facebook. As with anything online, it pays to think before you post.
