Default How Can We Get More Out Of Twitter?

Our company opened its doors 60 days ago and the second we started on Twitter we had followers. Now we know that initially we were just being chosen because we were new but that slowed fast. We now have 500 followers on Twitter but no one comes to our website and we get little or no interaction from our followers.

Does anyone have advice on how to get more out of Twitter? Our main goal is membership and of course website visitors. Any and all advice would be great.

Thank you

Twitter is all about whom you follow and who follows you and the level of interaction you have with followers. Search for your target audience or audience with similar interest as yours on Twitter and start following them. Tweet everyday with some knowledge sharing tweets (around 12-15 tweets/day) related to common interests and occasionally pitch in with your membership tweets. This might help you gain some attention from followers.

Note: Do not overload your follower's twitter page with unnecessary and frequent tweets. This might irritate them and force them to unfollow you.

The main objective of any social media like twitter is to engage & interact with the users. If you bombard too much with information, your results will not be successful. You'll need to learn how to influence your followers.

One more thing to consider is to subscribe to RSS feeds. You can further curate the content to build your authority. If you rely purely on your content, you can not be consistent in updating tweets.

Don't underestimate putting certain keywords in to your profile. I've gained a ton followers just from doing that alone.

Have you tried some steps to make those followers go to your site? You don't need to cajole. Just be natural with them.

We sent out direct msg invitations to join our site and promote their company but have had no luck.

You cannot expect everyone to join your site, so, if some would not have registered, it does not mean that others wont. Keep trying, have more followers, be more active on twitter by putting up all your online and offline updates of your site in your twitter account. Make people notice you, as once you do that, you will see a plethora of people registering to your site. However, you need to have patience, as the results might not come instantly.
