Default Ideas to Funding

It is important to note that the climate of funding and capitalizing a business has evolved quite a bit over the last decade and even 5 years. The lending environment has evolved from hand shake at your local bank to credit score driven to credit score driven for particular products. A lot of banks and financial institutions are actually coming out with prohibitions against giving loans for business purposes when it does not fit their product guidelines. So in order to start off you need to begin with doing all the things to go from an incubation stage to a start up stage.

Incubation is "an idea" with maybe a business plan.

Start Up is

1) Incorporating a business (recommend buying one at least 1 year old)
2) Obtaining an office (even if it is a economic virtual)
3) Registering in the 411
4) Having a 1800
5) Building a website
6) Listing in the yellow pages
7) Opening a bank account

et cetera....

As you can see all these actions show there is actually a business. A business that is in an incubation stage will most likely get no where. Free advice for business. We are a licensed financial advisor out of Texas and have staff that has been through several capitalization. Hope this helps

What type of business interests you? Maybe you could work on that first. Decide whether if you are going o be a manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer, reseller, etc. If you want to be in the service industry, what type of service can you provide that you can market or are you just planning to manage people who can perform the services?

Have you considered an online business? It's a very low-risk, low-cost way of getting going in your own small business. You can start with a topic you know a lot about and preferably something that you have a lot of passion for. The more passion you have for your topic, the better you'll shine, and the more edge you have over your competition.

A business is successful when the product or service they sell is done well. That being said you should figure out what you do well and start a business accordingly. If you are a good chef you start a restaurant, if you are a good artists you start a design company. Find something you do well and figure out if you can make money doing it with a business plan. I hope that helps.

If you have decided on what business you are going to have, make sure that you register your business first before operating.
