Here's an idea for your new business.

CafePress offers an affiliate program.

You could opt into their program, then approach other "Lactivist" sites and show them how they can make money for their cause by joining the affiliate program and selling your items.

Funny that you mention it...that's actually going to show up in the Day 7 article.

Default Day 6 - New Products, a Lesson or Two on AdSense and Investing Back in the Biz

Full Text: http://www.searchengineguide.com/laycock/006186.html

Almost a full week into the project, I'd made about $12 and was trying to figure out how best to reinvest it back into the business. Day six was a Sunday, which meant I didn't have but a couple of hours to put toward the site. Those few hours went toward new product development, another blog post and tons of time spent trying to get AdSense to work properly.

A play on Pumping Iron
Pumping Calcium

Open Mouth,
Insert Nipple

Building Strong Bones
And Teeth (ouch)

And since they aren't linked to from this thread, here's a little more PR for you ;>)

Ok, I just LOVE Open Mouth, Insert Nipple. That one is going online today. Thanks!

Looked into Google Analytics (blogged on the change yesterday)...but I can't run it on the CafePress site. (no sub-domains). Thats part of what has prompted the move to buy a domain name and look for hosting. I will say that I'm open to emails from anyone that wants to suggest a host. Here's what I'm looking for...

Unix server with full FTP access.
Must have C-Panel
Must be $8/month or less
Having stats built in would be great, otherwise, I'll go with Google Analytics.

Default Day 7 - MSN Plays Nice, Hosting is Confusing and an Interesting Email Shows Up...

Full Text: http://www.searchengineguide.com/laycock/006196.html

Day seven wasn't one of my more productive days, mostly because I had to spend about three hours of it driving to home to my parent's house so that they could watch my daughter for me while I put on the "<a href="http://www.thekarchergroup.com/seminar-cleveland-signup.asp">Search Engine Marketing Made Simple</a>" seminar with The Karcher Group in Cleveland. That said, I did get to do a little bit of looking into my hosting options, found that traffic was starting to get a little stronger and received a very interesting email.

You mentioned that using WordTracker would break your rules...did you try the old free Overture tool to check on your keywords (or newly placed in the Yahoo Search pages)?

My $0.02 on the hosting....

Free webhosting with DotEasy.com - No bells or whistles, but no banner popups either. I doubt you could run a blog there since there is no PHP or mySQL support for free accounts.

A little more... Ipage.com $6/month - template site. quick and easy setup.

A little more ... iPowerWeb $7.95/month. very powerful and all bells and whistles you could want. Blog, OSCommerce store free and easy to install.

I'm curious how you got to 200 unique visitors per day?

I'm struggling to add 40-60 visitors per day and get them to spend more than 5 seconds. Getting them to buy my affiliates products is even harder for the market I have targeted. Google ads have been useless. I set my goal at 6 months to turn a consistent profit.

I limited myself to $200 startup and have about $60 in revenues (after 45 days) that won't be paid until I reach affiliate minimums. The cafe press t-shirt idea is interesting due to the immediate availablility of markup dollars.

Good luck.
