It is said that half of the money spent on marketing is wasted; you just don’t know which half! Many small business owners have misconception about marketing because of which they end up spending lot of money without getting proper return. Internet and social media marketing provides perfect opportunity to get the marketing exposure without spending lot of money.

The reasons for using social media marketing are numerous. If you have grown-up children you know social media websites is where today’s customers are spending their more of their time. As we already mentioned, social media marketing costs less than traditional marketing. It also gives business owners opportunity to interact with their customers on a regular basis and in turn build long-lasting relationship with their customers. Finally, social media marketing lets you track how much return you are getting out of marketing spend.

Given the rise of number and types of Internet social media sites lately, many small business owners are struggling to decide which tools are suitable for their business. The question is which social media tools are appropriate and how you can use them effectively.

Basically, this is true. If you have the time to dedicate yourself to social media marketing, then you can reduce your costs to a great extent. Even before spending money on online tools, there are a few rules you can't go wrong with:

- be adequate. This ensures you address the right segment of potential customers.
- be diligent. Every detail counts, just like with offline marketing.
- be consistent. You need to keep your customers close and consistency is the key to such an approach.

There's basically a shift happening from offline, to online. Conventional marketing still works, but ignoring the Web is just poor business practice.

Shopping Cart Software without the expensive price tag.
Ecommerce Website Software for easier online transactions.

Not only do you get cheaper marketing online, you can view the results of your efforts. With a paper newsletter you have to rely on your customers to tell you in one way or another that they received it and responded. Online newsletters will give you detail on receipts, clicks & final responses. (Whether it's a purchase or a call for a quote)
