Well most would tell you to put your keyword at the first and last sentence of your article. And should distribute other key words in the body of the article. About 3% of the total word count.

With keyword proximity the way it works is the closer your main keywords are together the more relevance Google will award them.

it refers space between two keywords. Keywords should be equally distributed through out the page

The best example to emulate would be wikipedia. Look how they do it.

Whether it is for cracking up a decent website content or for a blog post, even for articles, one can make better use of keywords by assigning 2-3 main keywords per material. One keyword should be the primary keyword and the other one or the other two can serve as supplements to do for keyword proximity.

In any viral marketing campaign one phrase should never be forgotten and should always be done justice on - "Content is King."

How close they are doesn't matter. Where they are doesn't matter. Keyword density doesn't matter.

What does matter is how you can weave them into your copy to best match what a person searching for your product/service will type in the search box.

As an example:
Are you looking for the best fishing pole? [Store name] not only stocks and sells the best fishing equipment and tackle boxes, but we also have a selection of the best fishing poles and custom fishing rods.

Just a quickie... it's late!
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Default Keyword Proximity

It is something about how smartly use two or more keywords in manner to cover it in single phrase.

Hello,
Keyword Proximity refers to the closeness between two or more keywords or the distance of the keyword to other relevant words. Keyword proximity is the most important factor that affects the way the search engine.

But don't be so excessive on doing keywords for articles, most specially if it will point to your site only. Try to do, linking to authority sites so that it will be more meaningful to the readers, and you will surely be Google's favorite.

Writing naturally with your keywords in mind is the best way to go about creating content. That's what our writers do and they consistently come up with keyword densities of about 3-5% without any extra effort.
