Default Driving Traffic Through Social Media Theory.

I've been using twitter and facebook since day 1 on a review site I started...

I get a fair amount of traffic through facebook despite only having 3 page likes!

I really suspect this is because facebook fans are almost as good as having a subscriber for your list...

It just seems like people are less willing to follow you on facebook unless they're truly interested in what you have to say!

I have 185 followers on my twitter account and I get just a few clickthroughs a day... Clearly you need a lot more followers in order to get traffic through the site.

I know people talk a lot about having actual relationships with your followers and the funny thing is I do! I spend an inordinate amount of time interacting with my twitter followers and I'm really starting to question why since I get less reward out of my efforts!

Anyone else find this?

Also I recently started submitting my posts to StumbleUpon. I have an add-on in chrome which takes me just a few seconds to submit each post.

I saw immediate returns from doing this and actually get on par if not more traffic from it than I do from twitter. It's far too early to say whether the traffic is good and can be retained but it seems like it works pretty well.

My blog isn't even on a topic that I think there is a demographic for on StumbleUpon so this could probably work better for certain areas / niches.

All in all I think when people say you need to build your mailing list first that they're right... I attempted this through social media and haven't had much success.

Possibly because I've focused most of my energy on twitter. I'll definitely be changing my strategy from here on out.

I'd appreciate any tips! Also let me know what is most effective / ineffective for you!

You really can't do all the optimizing alone if you want to cover all those social networking sites especially if you would like to get more views in YouTube. You need the help of the services of an optimizer of which will help you do all those things.

Facebook and Twitter are the best site to promote your product and services and get some social signal to your site. This can be very helpful for you to increase traffic to your site and increase conversion rate. Apart from this you can also do promotion on Pinterest. It is also one of the most popular photo sharing site and better place to make your website or product promotion.

Some business ideas, whether they be services or products will take off and do well with a little prodding, others will produce limited results or none at all.

If you find yourself fighting to gain more interest and you are not getting the results you want, you may have found the limit that product or service will give you. That is ok. Then either experiment with tweaking it, change it in some way or try another idea.

All the effort spent in social marketing won't change the results of a business if the idea isn't filling a need to the point you want it to fill.
