Default A 2nd Vote for IPower and another to check out

Jenn,
I hope I'm not too late to chime in on the web hosting. This was a "scary" decision for me too. I ended up with iPower based on dh's research and recommendation. I've been with them nearly a year and I love the way they grow as my efforts do. Everytime I decide I want to do something more - they already have a solution. Plus with their Overture and Adwords freebies, you'll get a kick start. They have forms, subdomains, php, wordpress, and more. Live chat for simple problems, and 24/7 phone support for all else. Check them out.

I'd be lame if I didn't mention 1and1 hosting too as they've been recommended to me as even better than iPower, though there is no way I'm switching right now.

I'm so impressed 200 visitors/day already. Keep it up and they'll be buying soon.

I'm curious how you got to 200 unique visitors per day?
Viral marketing mostly. Right now about 95% of my traffic is coming from incoming links. Another 4% from search engines (either AdWords ads or MSN, nothing from Yahoo yetÖ) and the last 1% is either email links or from within CafePress searches.

This project seems to have some legs in the blog world and thatís been doing a great job of driving traffic. Even apart from the traffic generated from the article series, someone posted the site on Craiglists, which sent a nice number of visitors and itís also been picked up by a few parenting discussion forums.

As for hosting, I did end up selecting someone and started getting things setup last night. You'll find out who I picked and why in today's article. You'll also get a chance to see the preview of the new thelactivist.com web site. I'm hoping to have it online tonight, but it will depend on how much coding I get done and on how quickly the DNS resolves.

Default Day 8 - Viral Marketing Works, A New Site is Born and Sales Pick Up

Full Text: http://www.searchengineguide.com/laycock/006210.html

Day eight was all about progress. Viral marketing finally started to spread into the non-business world, two PR opportunities started to move forward, I got a complete site design put together for the new domain, selected a host, added several new products and had my first day of multiple sales. Overall, it turned out to be the best day of the project thus far.

I'm using two free tools you might want to check out:
Digital Point - Free Keyword Suggestion Tool (online) and
Good Keywords - Free Windows Download

Don't know if they are as good as wordtracker, but they are better than nothing!

Default Day 9 - Keyword Research, Chitika Mini Malls and Writing Content

Full Text: http://www.searchengineguide.com/laycock/006227.html

After the craziness that was day eight, day nine seemed a bit tamer. I still got plenty done, from integrating Chitika Mini Malls into the Blogger site to writing new content for the soon to be live <a href="http://www.thelactivist.com">Lactivist web site</a>. I also answered plenty of email from helpful folks who picked up on my no Wordtracker mention in day eight and spent some time adding my domain name to the majority of the products in <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/thelactivist">The Lactivist store</a>.

Jenn,
You know your doing something right when someone who stopped breastfeeding over 9 years ago is thinking up slogans in her sleep.

For your Milk Bank fundraisers how about:
"Express Yourself" on the back or front
w/ the Bank info on the other side.

"Mother's milk - it does 2 bodies good..."

"Nursing - Nature's Own Breast Enhancement"

Oh Melinda, I love them! Especially the "Express Yourself."

That's just fantastic!

I'll be getting those online later this weekend. (after I head to Urgent care as I'ev landed myself a nasty upper respitory infection.)

I'm very interested to hear any feedback you received from putting your url on the back of your shirts. My feeling is that your audience is passionate about the topic, so they'll be open to it. But would that be the case for other niche markets?

Great series of articles!

Fascinating stuff. Between this and the 9rules.com membership drive I can't stay off the internet.

FYI... TheLactivist.com site is down, Sun 7:17pm EST.

Just one thing Jenn. I came to this thread from a link in another forum, and the thread there contained a link to the site you are working on (so I've been to the site as well). You are well-known around the forums, and if links are appearing all over the place, it will give you an advantage that another person wouldn't have. Maybe it doesn't matter for the experiment, but maybe it does.
