Awesome topic.

Here are 5 reasons why I use and recommend Mozilla Firefox:

1) Mozilla Firefox is a more secure, stable platform than IE.
2) The plug-ins for Mozilla Firefox are amazing!
3) It runs smoother, faster and is easier to use and understand.
4) I support Open Source software. The best things in life truly ARE free!
5) I've never, not once, had a virus attack Mozilla Firefox.

And now for the features of Mozilla:

Private Browsing Surf the Web without leaving a single trace.

Password Manager Remember site passwords without ever seeing a pop-up.

Awesome Bar Find the sites you love in seconds (and without having to remember clunky URLs).

Super Speed View Web pages way faster, using less of your computerís memory.

Anti-Phishing & Anti-Malware
Enjoy the most advanced protection against online bad guys.

Session Restore Unexpected shutdown? Go back to exactly where you left off.

One-Click Bookmarking Bookmark, search and organize Web sites quickly and easily.

Easy Customization Thousands of add-ons give you the freedom to make your browser your own.

Tabs Do more at once with tabs you can organize with the drag of a mouse.

Personas Instantly change the look of your Firefox with thousands of easy-to-install themes.

hey Romando,
I stuck with IE6 forever, and had the same attitude as you. But finally I decided to try Firefox. Wow. It really is better, a lot better. I just wish I had switched a long time ago. Now I've just got to change my outlook to thunderbird.
Anyway, try it... you'll like it!

According to Google Analytics -- nearly 80% of my audience is using Firefox. There's a reason for that, you know.

Considering the maturity level of web browsers I can't say there's clearly a 'winner' in a contest. It really depends on what you need in a browser, and your experiences with it.

Personally, I've had too many issues with IE freezing up even when updated/uninstalled-reinstalled/etc. With FF lock ups are almost non-existent.

Chrome seems to display webpages quicker so I'm between FF and Chrome at the moment...

I think Firefox is good for the bells and whistles but for sheer speed of page loading I use Chrome.

I personally love Firefox way more than Internet Explorer.

The LastPass addon is seriously the best addon known to man, and it's free which is great too of course... :-)

It remembers all your passwords for all your sites and autofills them...

As far as I know, Internet Explorer doesn't have a feature like this...this alone makes me want to use Firefox over IE.

I prefer Fire Fox on many levels. Firstly IE sucks bug time LOL!

No, really, from an SEO point of view I prefer firefox due to the add ons that I can have that are not part of Fire Fox

It looks better and renders websites in a better format, I think I am a Microsoft hater which is probably more the reason than anything else, IE6 for example is a pile of crap and should have been removed by now, surely the only people left using IE6 are on pirate copies of Windows, so, who cares, remove IE6 and make them have the up to date version which would save programmers a ton of work, as per usual IE renders websites in a worse manner than Fire Fox - I wish all the browsers would just get together to save us programmers from having to programme for each individual browser like Safar, Fire Fox, IE etc

So, Fire Fox rules vs IE but this is just my personal opinion, I have now removed anything Microsoft from my machine and now use OpenOffice as this is free

I also use firefox everyday, but I also use ie for other stuff. I just couldn't completely let it go. I guess you can say I am like a multi-browser user, since I can use like 4 or more browsers at once for different things.

The only glitch I find I have with firefox is that it sometimes stops loading, like for some seconds.. I don't know if that's only me or what..

The plugins are terrific and it crashes less often.

I use Firefox because of Firebug and SEO Book, but the speed of the browser and the number of times that it crashes and ease of use are three main bonuses.
