Default Do The Reponsive Website Will Be Benefited By The Mobile Friendly Update

Hello Friends,

As we all know Google is coming up with the new Mobile friendly update on 21April, do the responsive design will also be considered as mobile friendly or we need to have a separate mobile website?

As long as the responsive site loads quickly enough, I think it will be OK.

Check in Google Webmaster Tools. They will alert you through there if they have found mobility issues with your site. If there is no alert in Webmaster Tools, then your site is probably OK.

Mobile Responsive is OK - i.e. your website adjusts to the device it is being viewed on.

You can test your website on Google: www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

The test is designed to analyze URLS and to report if the page has a mobile-friendly design or not.

If a page is deemed “mobile-friendly” a green message will appear that congratulates the webmaster, along with a screen shot that shows how Googlebot sees the page.

Make sure you test your site using the link David provided.

Having a "responsive design", or "mobile site", or "page speed" which has been mentioned are all irrelevant for this update. The only question for this Google update is whether you pass Google's test.

Example: if someone tells you your site is "responsive" but it fails Google's test, it may be "responsive" per one criteria but not the one that matters when it comes to Google showing your website to searches on small screen devices.

Arrow Responsive design

Google announced late last year that it's official position is that responsive web design is its preferred option because it doesn’t slow down Google's servers like mobile re-direct scripts do.

But just the same, Torka and the other previous posters are right: check your site design using Google’s test page.

Then you know if it's okay — and if not, it will tell you why so you can fix it.
