hey guys. this is my first contribution so go easy on me


so i'll share with you today a "REAL" good money maker....this method you dont really need to do anything much.. you can hire people to do everything.. you dont even need any investment!!

once you have it up and running you can outsource to india and move on to your next business venture


the method:

all of you would know about hostgator right?
well you would also know when you sign up as an affiliate and send them a user they get a month hosting for free and you get up to $120 per user that signs up!

now the trick is..

1) put an ad in a newspaper saying you will give everybody a website for free
2) make them choose a template and send you the content
3) once done make the site and make them sign up on hostgator
4) they will 90% of the time renew their hosting agreement with hostgator


now one ad in the news paper gets something close to 30- 40 orders and it takes about a month to get them all done.

don't forget to outsource all the work!!

you will make a lot of money + word will spread due to the happy and satisfied customers and later on you can charge for support and SEO if you want.

how do you make the website you ask? anyone on the internet knows how easy it is to to upload a wordpress blog. just upload the template they choose and their information and your good to go. 10 mins of work for $120? pretty good return dont you think?

are they happy with a wordpress blog you ask? yes! why? because most people offline dont know you can make a simple, easy, attractive with wordpress....also it's free so they never complain.

you give them a free website and they sign up to hostgator to host it. honest, simple, and easy.

i'm not asking anything in return for this info. just that you put it to use and thrive!

If you can elaborate briefly, I'm interested in knowing...

(1) How often have you done this?

(2) Of those that call/contact you, what percentage make a commitment to do it. Is it nearly all?

(3) Of those that commit to doing it, how many actually complete it? For example, I have developed a ton of websites and there are cases where a client just never pitches in their share to bring the site to completion (i.e. providing content). If a client doesn't provide content, the site doesn't get finished and you do not have earning potential then. Is this a scenario that you have encountered or can be a concern based on your experiences?

(4) How much expense do you usually have with your newspaper ad and outsourcing? Are there any other costs outside of time that should be considered. Do the phones go crazy, and a lot of questions or is 10 minutes on the phone really a typical/realistic budget for timeframe to complete the process?

I like your idea, and I am interested in learning more about your experiences with it if you can share any feedback on the above questions or anything else you might think is relevant.

hey logan i'm glad to hear you like my method!

to answer your questions:

1. how often? are you asking if i do it daily or how many times total i've done this?

2. a little bit less than 10% of the people that contact me go through with it. it's free yes but many people have a hard time getting over the fact that they think it's some scam. because a lot free things are a scam frankly. to get over this hurdle i just say i'm a budding web design company that is looking to build my up portfolio.

3. i dont come accross this ever because of one simple reason. i ask them for content first before i start on the design. if i receive content from them 99% of the time they are committed. then once you have the site up have them sign up under your hostgator affiliate link.

4. i actually dont spend a lot of time on the phone. i do a lot of email and IM chatting to get the job done. it's much more efficient. also i don't do much outsourcing because it's so easy to throw up a WP blog with a template now-a-days. outsourcing may come in the near future.

It does sound interesting, but how can you ask them to choose a template before they sign up for hostgator? The template choices won't come until they are signed up, right?

just one or two pages. no need to make a huge website. i can make one of these websites in 30 mins and with practice you can too. it's really not hard. get a wp theme...upload it to your domain....cup and paste client info and it's done!

no. i'm talking about wp themes. they are free. just pick 10 or so of the best wp themes and make the client pick and choose

We did just that yesterday and plan to host with hostgator for this client who wants 5 WP websites, very easy when you know CSS

Took a while yesterday of course to suss out WP but now we have done that it is a doddle

I've been researching this and found out that hostgator does not allow self signups with their affiliate program. So in your scenario your client would need to signup for their own hosting using your affiliate code.

It took me awhile to understand, but you'll see gooroo does say

then once you have the site up have them sign up under your hostgator affiliate link.

Personally, in Simone's situation where they already bill and support others with hosting, I think you would be better off just reselling the hosting yourself vs telling this "client" of yours to go sign up for hosting with hostgator.
