Question $500 offer from Metrics Direct

Hey everyone,

I just got an email from Metrics Direct offering to match my money up to $500 for making a deposit into their PPC ad system. My instinct is to ignore it, because I like to concentrate my efforts on the services that will deliver the most clicks (AdWords & Overture, er, Yahoo Search Marketing), and I would hate to lock up $500 and have it just sitting in a PPC account somewhere not getting any results.

Have any of you used Metrics Direct? If so, how did it work for you?

Thank you in advance!

- Paul

I don't think I have heard of them.

I can say that with Google's and Yahoo/Overture's reach with PPC advertising, they are difficult to beat for value and good ROI.

I agree and I think that is the best approach.

I will say that I am adventurous and will test new services. But, the time to test new services is after a great deal of experience has been gained working with Google and Yahoo. This way there is a long track record and benchmarks for comparing the ROI of a new service.

Did they contact you out of the blue? Was it a form letter or did someone contact you personally.

Thanks for the responses!

I am vaguely familiar with the company from my time at PayPal. I believe their business model is that they pay a bunch of people to install software on their computers that tracks everywhere they go in their browser. Then they sell that information to companies who are interested in the marketing & demographics data. I guess they've decided to get into the PPC market now.

They sent me a form email; I am assuming they made a big list of people advertising on Yahoo & Google (taking email addresses from the Contact Us pages), and built their list that way.

I think I'll just file this one away in chapter 13.

Default I Use Metrics Direct!

I have used Metrics direct and they are professional
and run their company with integrity.

They do some interesting things that no one else
offers (you can show up when people search for or
find your competitors).

That said... my search terms seem to be searched
for pretty infrequently on their "network" -- whatever
that may be -- so I can't claim to have any
measurable success with them.

They implemented a tracking system which will help
with that... but I have not yet set it up.

So... sorry for the half answer... but I hope that
helps!
