Default Quickbooks Desktop Vs Online? What Is Preferred?

Quickbooks Desktop vs Online? What is preferred?

QuickBooks Desktop user counts are approaching 5.2 million. Even with the move to QuickBooks Online, current Intuit forecasts expect no more than a 25% decline in QuickBooks Desktop licensing through 2017, which would be around 3.9 million users. It is clear that Intuit has made notable progress on improving QuickBooks Online with the revisions in September 2013 and the developments in the product since that time. With Intuitís QuickBooks Online installed base of 683,000, they have the largest installed base of any entry level SaaS product. With Intuitís publicly stated goal of having 3 million users by 2017.

But, what is the sentiment of the small biz crowd? On-line or desktop...?

Cheers

Online, just easier these days and its always there when I need it from any computer - in particular when I get a new computer. that's when I think others are motivated to change, when that desktop needs to be replaced.

Basically Quickbooks desktop and online, both are different products. We cannot compare both. Each one is having several advantages over other. Still generally so many peoples prefer to use Quickbooks online.

Default QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online

Hi,

QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online both have their perks and downsides. QB desktop is a one-time purchase software, whereas QB Online has a recurrent monthly subscription fee. However, being a SaaS-based service, QuickBooks Online offers remote access to its users, and in comparison, the desktop version installed on a single local desktop.

Additionally, most of the features of QuickBooks Desktop not covered by QuickBooks Online like inventory tracking, calculate discounts by the customer, and rebilling of the job cost.

So if you are more inclined towards getting the flexibility benefits of cloud-based software rather than QB's features, you can opt for the online version. But, if you need all the feature-set QuickBooks has to offer, the desktop version would be the right choice. Also, you can harness the power of the cloud along with the features of the QuickBooks desktop by hosting it on cloud.
