Post 5 Safe Ways You Can Build Links This Year

Anyone who has ever tried to market a website will acknowledge how challenging it can be to obtain quality links for their website. Long gone are the days you would see results after building dozens of links through social bookmarking sites, directory submissions and other low quality sites with little editorial standard.

However, this is not to say itís a tasking endeavour to build credible backlinks. Some like guest blogging have become irrelevant and are long dead as recently announced by Google webspam czar Matt Cutts. So, what credible techniques can you employ this 2014? Here are 5 ways, and you can also add ones that are working for you.

Back in the day you could get ranked fairly easy by just spamming. Now it takes more of a step by step approach in order to get ranked.

I actually have a few backlinks from Bing aimed at one of my websites

You just have to think outside the box sometimes in order to get those golden links which will help your site out.

Your 5th method "Reverse Engineering (Competitor Link Analysis)" is a great way to stay on top of your competitors. I'm pretty sure our competitors get a little mad when they see we get the same links as they do lol.

An easy way to figure out your competitors backlinks is to use ahrefs

I have been interviewing industry experts on my BLOG.

At first it was a bit nerve-racking, as I am new to this. But I have found that as soon as I published a few of the video interviews onto my blog, others started to become interested in interviews as well.

As of right now, I have more footage than I can edit And the links (particularly from social sites) came easily.

Looking at what links competitors are getting is a definite favourite of mine. Doing a scan on Majestic SEO gives you all the information you need.

For my clients within the right business niches, broken link building has definitely reaped benefits. Scan the resource pages of sites in your niche for broken links, and then email the owner to inform them where they are. Offer an alternative and if applicable suggest your own site too.

A dog food website I recently ran an SEO campaign on has gained lots of strong links from this process, as so many personal blogs in the pet niche have broken links within them.

Thanks for sharing! What about article directories, forum signatures, and two-way link exchanges?

I found a good way to generate traffic is to interview industry experts over the phone and post the article in the blog section of your website. The interviewee gets a buzz and shares it as well as you site being seen as an authority.
