Default No Page Rank Update

According to a post on Seroundtable, John Mueller said that Google will not update PageRank in the future.

Frankly speaking, I donít care about this news but still I have a question to all forum members. How do we consider that a site is a high authority site? Your answer will be high page rank, good domain authority and social presence. Suppose a website has high page rank but for the past one year, the website is giving backlinks to spammy websites. Now if Google does not update the PageRank, these sites will have high page rank permanently. A newly established website which is trying to gain good page rank by doing only ethical SEO will suffer due to this news i.e. No PageRank update. PageRank was last updated on 6th December, 2013. So whatís the solution? For reference, I have shared the post - https://www.seroundtable.com/google-...ead-19256.html

After this update, it will not be wrong if we say Goodbye to the Google Pagerank toolbar. Now whats important is to consider the authority of the websites, and not the page rank.

Check your website traffic online use SEMRush website and check the Domain and Page authority and also check the website backlinks on Ahrefs.

Alexa is purely an indication of traffic. Google page rank is now almost meaningless. Most people refer to Moz page and domain authority

Or maybe stop worrying about whether a site is a "high authority" site in the first place.

Just take a look at their actual content and where else they're linking. If their content is high quality and the other sites they link to also tend to be of high quality, then there's a really good chance that a link from them would be a good link to have.

If, on the other hand, their content is a bunch of crappy, hastily-written (or worse yet, spun) "guest posts" -- or they have little to no content at all -- and when they link out, it's to other similarly crappy sites, then a link from them might not be so valuable.

You don't need to use automated tools to evaluate the quality of a page.

I would recommend not to focus on page ranking update and put all your efforts in providing interesting and engaging content. It is more important to build relationship with your targeted audience.
