Default Can Someone Help Me With This Ebay stuff?

All right this is my story, there is a bunch of stuff around my house in which I don't want anymore and I've been wanting to sell but online because I don't like garage sales. So now i'm 18, the whole EBay thing confuses me because of all these charges and PayPal. I know I have to sign up for PayPal but which do I sign up for? The Personal one doesn't say anything about Selling but the next one says you can Buy and Sell but there are fee's for that. And then according to Ebay they charges for every item you sell. Also, say if I did sell an Item, i've never really sent anything through the post office so I think there's a UPS store down the street, i'd buy a box, and then what? I'm sorry but I have NO CLUE what-so-ever

You pay insertions and final value fees on ebay, take a look at:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html

You pay for the privilege of accepting money via Paypal, take a look at:

http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...y-fees-outside

Personal accounts are free but cannot accept cards, whereas business accounts can (you will definitely need the latter one for Ebay).

There are lots of packing material suppliers out there you do not need to always use the post office supplies, factor the costs into your pricing and you are on your way.

HTH

The first post states that you DO NOT HAVE TO sign up, unfortunately other than cheqiues/postal cash/orders and nbank transfers you are a little bit limited on online payment processors.

Sure there are a lot of people that are not happy with paypal, such as those on the site you linked to, however there are far more happy customers out there hence the popularity. With a little bit of caution Paypal is not really a major problem, although i agree the security isn't what it should be.
